These are the rules of the Cadenza Affiliate Program, in plain English. You accept them when you join. Cadenza is not affiliated with any school.
1Joining means agreeing
You join by ticking the box on the Invite Friends page. That means you agree to these terms. Our Terms of Service still apply. Where the two differ about the program, these terms win.
2Who can join
Anyone with a Cadenza account in good standing. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent.
3One account per person
One person, one Cadenza account. Your rewards are tied to that account and its email address.
4No self-referral
You cannot refer yourself. That includes a second address (another Gmail spelling or a +tag counts as the same address), an account you control for someone else, and any fake or duplicate account.
5When a referral counts
A friend counts when all of this is true:
- they create a new Cadenza account with your link or code, within a day of signing up;
- their email address has never been referred before, on any account, including deleted ones;
- their first lesson is built from a file they uploaded themselves.
An existing account cannot be credited to you later.
6What your friend gets
A free month of Plus: 5 courses instead of 2. No card is needed. The month starts when they make their account. If a free month is already running, it starts when that one ends. When it ends, their account goes back to Free on its own and their courses stay. Each person gets this once.
7What you get
One month of Plus for each friend who counts, added automatically when that friend's first lesson is built. If you pay for Plus or Premium, the month is saved and starts when your paid plan ends. A reward never starts, changes or cancels a paid plan, and it never charges you.
8Rewards are service credit
Rewards are service credit on Cadenza. They have no cash value. You cannot sell them, trade them or move them to another account.
9Months stack
There is no cap. Each new month starts when your last one ends. We may review unusual volume, such as many referrals in a short time.
10Our records decide
Cadenza's records decide whether a referral counted and what you earned. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we will look again.
12Say you get a reward
When you post about Cadenza in public, say that you get a free month. Use this line, as written: I get a free month if you join with my link. Keep it where people will see it, not buried in a pile of hashtags. In a video, show it on screen or say it out loud.
13Be honest
Share only your own, honest experience. Do not promise grades, results, or anything Cadenza does not do.
14School rules
Follow your school's rules. Do not post about Cadenza in your school's learning system, including course pages, discussions and announcements. Do not send blasts from a school email. Do not use any school's name, crest or logo. Never say or suggest that Cadenza is official or endorsed by a school.
15Our brand
Use only the code and link we give you. Do not change the Cadenza logo. Do not create handles, pages or domains that contain the name Cadenza.
16Fraud
If we find fake accounts, self-referral, paid or traded referrals, or other abuse, we may void rewards, take back months you earned that way, and turn off your code.
17Changes
We may change these terms or end the program. Changes apply to referrals made after we tell you, in the app or by email. Months you already earned are honoured, unless they were earned by fraud.
18Our relationship
You are not our employee, agent or partner. You cannot make promises or agreements for Cadenza. Rewards are the only benefit of the program.
19Your friends' privacy
You see counts only: how many friends joined, how many built a lesson, and the months you earned. You never see who. We never ask for your contacts. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep about referrals and why.
20Taxes
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to rewards you receive.
21No luck involved
Every reward is earned by a friend who counts. Nothing is drawn, raffled or given for rank.
22Liability
We run the program with care, but we provide it as is. As far as the law allows, Cadenza is not liable for indirect losses from the program, and our total liability for it is limited to the value of the rewards you earned. If you break these terms, for example by spamming or making false claims, you are responsible for the harm that causes. Nothing here limits your rights under Ontario consumer protection law.
23Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario decide any dispute. There is no arbitration clause and no class action waiver.
